Most Businesses Don't Have a Hiring Problem. They Have a Fracture Problem

Finding stillness in the eye of the storm - arickard on leadership under pressure

In the Eye of the Storm

When everything around you is moving -  the pressure, the plans, the noise -  your first instinct might be to move with it.

To fix. To figure it out. To do something.

Because standing still in chaos feels like failure. But what if that stillness is the very thing that brings you back?

There’s a moment inside every storm where everything softens. The center holds. The noise drops. That’s the eye.

It doesn’t mean the storm is over. It means you’ve found the place where you can breathe.

This space - The Insight Pause - was created for that moment. Not to solve the storm. Not to bypass it.

But to remind you that clarity doesn’t come from control. It comes from presence.

You don’t need another opinion. Another plan. Another piece of content telling you what to do.

You need to feel your own footing again.

And that only happens when you stop spinning long enough to hear what your own nervous system has been trying to say:

  • “We’re not lost. We’re just overwhelmed”
  • “We don’t need a map. We need a moment”
  • “This isn’t a failure. It’s a turning point”

This Week’s Reflection:

  • Where have I been reacting just to feel in control?
  • What clarity might surface if I stopped trying to force it?
  • What’s still true in the center - beneath the noise, beneath the spin?

You don’t have to escape the storm. You just have to stop abandoning yourself inside it.

That’s where the shift begins. Not in motion -  But in return.
